Pakistan and Hungary holds bilateral consultations

Islamabad, March 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): The third round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Hungary was held in Budapest on March 27, 2013. Ms Ayesha Riyaz, Additional Secretary (Europe), Ministry of Foreign Affairs led the Pakistan delegation and was accompanied by Ambassador Qasim Raza Muttaqi. The Hungarian side was headed by Mr. Szabolcs Takacs, Deputy State Secretary for Global Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hungary.

The two sides reviewed bilateral relations, cooperation in multilateral forums as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest. The Pakistan side expressed its appreciation of Hungary’s support in the EU for Autonomous Trade Preferences (ATPs) for Pakistan and also requested for Hungary’s continued support for market access to EU markets through inclusion in GSP plus.

Ms. Riyaz also called on Mr. Peter Sztaray, Deputy State Secretary for Security Policy and discussed strengthening Pakistan-Hungary relations, regional security matters and international issues of common interest.
