Berlin, June 04, 2015 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Syed Hasan Javed has said that with German Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) showing an upsurge of interest in Pakistan’s market, it is hoped that Pakistan will emerge as a major growth point and business hub for German companies in Asia-Pacific Region.
He was addressing to the members of the Economic Council of the Ruling German Party, Christian Democratic Union (CDU) here today. The Embassy has organized this event to brief them on “Economic Policies and Perspectives of Pakistan – Opportunities and Challenges” under CDU Economic Council’s Programme, “Business Meets Embassy”.
The Ambassador gave an overview of Pakistan’s economy and its untapped natural and human resources and said that all the economic indicators pointed a respectable growth in the coming future. He urged the German investors to avail themselves of the opportunities that Pakistan had been offering to the foreign investors as this was the right time to invest in Pakistan to reap the future benefits. He said that China’s investment of US $46 Billion would not only change the economic landscape of Pakistan but also the whole region.
President of the CDU Economic Council, Dr. Nikolaus Breuel thanked the Ambassador for organizing this talk and adding to their knowledge about a country that had been a victim of terrorism and media misperception.
During the Q and A Session, the Ambassador while replying to different questions from audience also highlighted the status of India-Pakistan relations, and Pakistan’s fight against religious militancy, extremism and terrorism.
