Lahore, June 12, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Game-Changer Pak-China Economic Corridor would start a new era of trade and economic cooperation therefore Pakistan’s private sector should avail this unique opportunity to the maximum. These views were expressed by the head of 14-member Chinese delegation Wu Jingsi and LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz at a meeting here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. LCCI Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi also spoke on the occasion.
Friday can rightly be dubbed as Chinese Day at the Lahore Chamber as a 14-member high-powered sector-specific delegation had a very interactive business meeting with their counterparts in the first half of the day while a detailed presentation on Pak-China Economic Corridor was given to businessmen in the second part of the day. The presentation was given by Mr Siddiqur Rehman Rana.

Mumtaz said that an obvious increase in the frequency of Chinese delegations to Pakistan makes it apparent that special significance is being given by China to Pakistan to further strengthen the Pak-China relations. LCCI President said that LCCI members are keen to interact with the Chinese delegates from Jiangmen Municipality for making joint efforts aimed at boosting bilateral trade and economic relations.
Ijaz A. Mumtaz said that in the context of ongoing project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the need and importance of private to private contacts has mounted. In this scenario, he said, the roles of chambers of commerce and organizations like Jiangmen Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau have widened.

We do hope that the state level cooperation between two countries will bring greater fortune to both of us. He said that China is an important trading partner of Pakistan. It is the second largest importing country after UAE and regarding top exporting countries of Pakistan, China comes at second place after USA.
He said that these stats are bound to improve in a decade or so because once the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project becomes fully functional, a win-win situation will take place for both the countries. In the meantime, we need to interact on regular basis for exploring avenues for trade expansion and opportunities for investments.
LCCI President said that there are ample opportunities of trade available for Chinese businessmen in almost all the sectors or sub-sectors of economy. Although our Chinese delegates would study Pakistan market related to their focus areas but Pakistan has got a lot to offer and become closest trading partner of China. The presentation given to the LCCI members was prepared with an objective to bring to the limelight the opportunities cropping due to Pak-China Economic Corridor.
