Karachi, June 10, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Southern Regional Committee (SRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is organizing a Post Budget Seminar on June 11, 2015 at a local hotel in Karachi.
The primary objective is to discuss and deliberate on the possible consequences of the Federal Budget 2015-16 on the economy of Pakistan. Mohammad Zubair, Minister of State, Chairman Privatization Commission will be the Session Chairman. Saqib Masood, FCA, Member, ICAP Taxation Committee will deliver a presentation on “Key Changes – Proposed in Direct Tax Regime”.
Adnan Mufti, FCA, Partner, Shekha and Mufti Chartered Accountants will deliver a presentation on “Key Changes – Proposed in Indirect Tax Regime”. Dr. Salman Shah, Former Caretaker Finance Minister, will share his views on the “Impact of 2015-16 Budget on the Economy of Pakistan”.
A panel discussion will follow to highlight various aspects of the budget and the proposed way forward. Among the panellists will be Syed Shabbar Zaidi, FCA, Partner, A.F. Ferguson and Co. Chartered Accountants, Naeem Akhter Sheikh, FCA, Chairman, ICAP Taxation Committee, Khalid Mansoor, Chief Executive, The Hub Power Company Limited (HUBCO) and Iftikhar Allahwala, Director National Bank of Pakistan and Specialty Printers. The panel discussion will be moderated by Mehmood Abdul Razzak, FCA, Partner, Baker Tilly Mehmood Idress Qamar Chartered Accountants. Other senior professionals and government officials are also expected to attend.
