Karachi, November 07, 2012 (PPI-OT): Dr. Arshad A. Vohra, Chairman, S.I.T.E. Association of Industry placed before the massive gathering of industrialists of SITE Area on today at SITE Stadium, SITE Industrial Area, Karachi issues relating to prevailing law and order situation.
The major and important issue was to deal with the prevailing law and order situation in Karachi, which has made it extraordinary difficult to carry out business with mental peace, particularly in S.I.T.E. area.
In coming to SITE, leaving the SITE and while sitting in the office / factory are always under the mental threat. We always pray to Almighty ALLAH to have a safe day and we reach back home safely. If you remember three of our industrialists have been shot dead only for a mobile phone.
Dacoities, harassment, extortion, looting of goods loaded trucks, controlling of all these crimes by the government agencies have not only become difficult but rather impossible.
He said that the situation is not that we are helpless, we are capable enough to secure our lives and factories from the criminals carrying out these crimes.
He further said that we need to prove to these criminals that the industrialists are not helpless, rather they are quite capable to not only protect their offices / factories but there selves too. To achieve this target and to prove this to criminals we have to join hand with each other and we must become united. We need to make the hands of S.I.T.E. Association stronger which is the voice of our industry.
He further informed that the safety plan and measures taken by us will be under legal umbrella.
Mr. M. Zubair Motiwala, Chairman Sindh Board of Investment and former President KCCI and Chairman of S.I.T.E. Association of Industry endorsing the Self Security Plan expressed that we have no option as LEA have miserably failed to provide protection. At least the deterrence for road crimes is must and we must join hands irrespective of reluctance if any of monetary aspect and in the prevailing situation we have to save ourselves at any cost.
Mr. Ahmed Chinoy, Chief CPLC speaking on the occasion fully supported the Security Plan of S.I.T.E. Association which is practicable plan and he assured the cooperation of CPLC for the successful operation of the plan.
Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli, Leader BMG, Former President of KCCI and Patron-in-Chief of S.I.T.E. Association of Industry reiterated that our group believes in service to the business community and our past record speaks itself. He determined that we own our city and our company which we cannot leave. He said everyone knows that what is happening and how the things are going on.
He said that in this country no crime is committed without knowledge of the police officials. It is also not possible the police officials are unable to apprehend criminals, he added but enough is enough.
Mr. Siraj Teli gave loud and clear message to the all concerned that “we will not sit quite and become the silent victims of this kind of lawlessness prevailing in one of the most oldest and biggest industrial area of Pakistan, which happens to be biggest contributor to the national exchequer;”
He stressed that everyone should be allowed to keep arms without licence so that deterrent to the criminals is transmitted clearly.
He desired that this plan can only give the results within one month if we all are united and devoted to this effect.
It was further decided that if the Supply of Gas with proper pressure is not provided to the SITE Industrial Area with a week, all the industrialists will be constrained to sit in (DHARNA) in front of the Head office of SSGCL at Civic Center, Karachi.
