Kuwait Constitutional Court rejects appeals related to parliament election

Kuwait (IINA) Kuwait Constitutional Court on Wednesday announced its verdict that rejects all appeals related to the parliament elections of 2016, but accepted Faraj Al-Arbid’s candidacy membership as a member of parliament and the annulment of Marzouq Al-Khalifa’s membership in the parliament.

Last February, the court decided to hear all electoral appeals filed by candidates pertaining to the results of National Assembly elections 2016 in five constituencies and setting Wednesday’s session to announce the verdict, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

On January 4, the court announced that it had received reports from the Ministry of Interior regarding the National Assembly elections held on November 26 last year during which 50 candidates representing five constituencies were elected to the parliament.
