China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Offers Stalls, Customs Facilitation to Pakistan for Kunming Fair

Islamabad: In connection with the 7th China South Asia Business Forum to be held in Kunming (Yunnan) on June 5-7, 2012, a delegation of 11 members under the leadership of Ms. Huang Shan of CCPIT visited Pakistan to invite Pakistani Businessmen and National Leaders to attend the 7th China South Asia Business Forum.

China has adopted a new policy, since last few years to give access to South Asian Countries to promote their export to China and to encourage Chinese investment in South Asian countries.

Last year, Sri Lanka was the partner country and the Prime Minister and high dignitaries of Sri Lanka participated in the forum. This year Pakistan is the partner country and Mr. Tariq Sayeed, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan China Business Council of FPCCI has been nominated the Chairman of the Forum. The visiting delegation included two representatives of government sector and the leading businessmen from iron and steel, tea and building construction sectors. During their visit in Karachi, the delegation met with the Governor of Sindh and invited him to participate in this forum, to which the governor has agreed to participate.

They also desired that either the President or the Prime Minister of Pakistan may kindly attend the forum. Delegation also met Mr. Tariq Puri, Chief Executive, TDAP and discussed with him the design of Pakistan country pavilion. Apart from Pakistani businessmen, who will be given stall in the 5th South Asian Countries Trade Fair and the 20th Kunming Import and Export Fair. Pakistan will be given an opportunity to construct a separate pavilion.

Mr. Tariq Sayeed, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan China Business Council of FPCCI thanked the delegates at the Federation house for meeting with the leading businessmen and explained to them that it would be a golden opportunity for Pakistani businessmen to exhibit and sell their products and they will also have opportunity for business meeting as well as to discuss joint ventures and to attract Chinese investment in Pakistan for which they have to send advance information to Pakistan.
