A delegation of UK-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and expressed interest in investing in various sectors.
The delegation, led by CCI’s president Amjad Khan, told CM Punjab that they want to invest in livestock, agriculture, dairy development, industry, tourism, and other sectors.
The delegation said that they want to invest Pound 200 million in Punjab initially. During the meeting, the CM said that new Pakistan is open to investors. He said that UK-based Pakistanis are welcome to invest and the government will provide them full protection.
He told the delegation that the Punjab government will give every possible incentive to the investors, as investment brings prosperity and development. He disclosed that a roadshow will be organized in London under the support of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade.
Buzdar assured that investors will not face any difficulty or interference in the investment process. He added that the process will not be curtailed by any bureaucratic issue and any hindrance will be dealt with on a priority basis.
The CM said that the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab is here to help solve the expatriates’ problems. He told the delegation that the government will protect the properties of overseas Pakistanis and he will personally supervise the problem-solving mechanism.
The delegation comprised of General Secretary of UK-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Waheed-ur-Rehman Mian, Senior Vice President Syed Asad Hussain, Vice President Asim Yousuf, Joint Secretary Sardar Shafqat Khan, and others.
Several provincial ministers including Dr. Yasmin Rashid and government officials were also present at the occasion.
